Bringing art beyond the walls of a traditional gallery, Clarence Mobile Art Space is a compact, multifunctional exhibition space designed to deliver dynamic pop-up art experiences at community events.
Created for the City of Clarence and the Rosny Farm arts precinct, the project transforms a repurposed shipping container into a mobile gallery, extending opportunities for artistic expression and engagement across the Clarence community.
KEY COLLABORATORS

Place
Rather than being tied to a single location, Clarence Mobile Art Space is designed to move between different community settings, bringing exhibitions and artistic experiences into the everyday life of Clarence.
When not deployed at external locations, the micro gallery becomes part of the Rosny Farm arts precinct, complementing its existing facilities and providing an additional space for artistic expression.
This flexibility allows the gallery to serve both as a permanent resource within the arts precinct and as a mobile cultural space that reaches beyond it.

Process
The challenge was to create a space that could function both independently at community events and as part of the established Rosny Farm arts precinct. Adapting a shipping container while retaining provided the practical advantages of a compact, easily transportable structure.
Impact
Clarence Mobile Art Space creates new opportunities for the community to encounter and engage with art outside a conventional gallery setting.
By bringing exhibitions to community events and public spaces, the project seeks to make artistic experiences more accessible, extending the reach of the Clarence City Council Arts Program into the wider Clarence community and demonstrating how a modest, repurposed structure can support a broader community purpose.
